    Paradise Taveuni is a new boutique Resort nestled amongst lush green gardens with Rainforest Mountain as a back drop, catering to discerning travellers looking for their own piece of paradise. Its unique Deep Water Frontage allows Guests to dive, snorkel and swim from the lava flow edge into pristine warm tropical waters any time of the day or night.

    Location: This unique boutique Resort is a 1hr 10 minute domestic flight from Nadi International Airport followed by a scenic 1 hour drive from Taveuni’s Matei Airport. Situated on the Southern tip of Taveuni, it is found within 5 acres of lush oceanfront, tropical grounds featuring panoramic ocean views.

    10 bures have been been hand built in 2006/07 with local coconut and rain tree woods. Glass doors open to a spacious deck completed with a Fijian daybed. Inside the bure finds a generous King bed in a private bedroom, an airy lounge room and modern bathroom. The essential Fiji out door shower within a private tropical garden is a step outside the back door and all oceanfront bures have a Jacuzzi.

    Full service activities include kayaking, nature hikes, horseback riding, snorkelling, SCUBA diving with Pro Dive Taveuni, jet ski expeditions, sports fishing, guided tours, spa services and more.

    Owner/Operators Allan and Terri Gortan live on site and understand the importance of offering a genuine Fijian experience to their Guests. Fijian hospitality comes easily and naturally in Paradise.

    The Resort offers 10 new Fijian bures, new open air Restaurant with gift shop and tour desk, Spa services, Pro Dive Taveuni on site and a new horizon edge freshwater swimming pool.

    Internet access is offered at the Tour Desk via satellite connection. Secretarial services such as word processing, faxing, photocopying etc is also available at the Tour Desk. Small personalized conferences are a specialty.

    Getting There

    A 1 hour domestic flight to Taveuni from Nadi International Airport is followed by a scenic 1 hour drive to Paradise.

    Car parking is available at our security base and is secure and off the street.

    Things To Do

    FISHING ADVENTURE – Sports Fishing

    Depart the resort and begin trolling immediately. Your captain is an experienced all-weather fisherman with much local knowledge of the waters around Paradise.

    There is a large variety of species to be found at varying times of the year. Depending on the season, Marlin, Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Skip Jack Tuna, Giant Trevally and Barracuda are caught in remarkable quantities.
    Sports Fishing Trips depart daily from 5.30am and are also available on request.
    FJ$120 per hour max. 2 adults.

    2 hour trip is $50 per person

    GUIDED TOUR – Southern Taveuni Tour.

    Visit the local village, see the southern blowhole and discover Fijian sacred sites .
    $150 1 – 2 persons.

    GUIDED TOUR – Cannibal Cave Tour

    This mysterious cannibal prison is made from lava rock, and you descend part of the way on hands & knees. Wonder at the ancient legends of the cave & look for old bones from days gone by. Discover mud pools within the cave that were once used for their healing properties.

    HIKING ADVENTURE – Bouma National Heritage Park Guided Tour

    A scenic coastal drive to 5the national park. Once at Bouma, discover the beauty of the Tavoro Waterfalls. A 10 minute walk to the first and most famous waterfall of Fiji, and then it is up to you to decide whether to go onward to the second and third falls. Stop along the way back to Paradise at the Taveuni timeline, Holy Cross church and natural waterslides.

    HIKING ADVENTURE – Day In A Rainforest!

    A 5 minute drive to the nearby Nobroboo Farm for a guided trip along one of the most scenic rainforest trails in Taveuni. Your guide will educate you on the fauna in the area and of the traditional uses and names of the flora. Ideal for BIRD WATCHERS!

    After a 4 hour trek, refresh yourself in the crystal waters, snorkel with a multitude of fish, and enjoy a light lunch.
    6 hour trip is $100 per person and includes refreshments.

    HORSE RIDING

    Discover the beauty of the Taveuni mountainside.

    Our local experienced horseman will guide you as you ascend through farmlands and rainforest jungles to the rim of an extinct volcanic crater. Panoramic views of Vuna Reef and the entire Southern Taveuni area awaits. Don’t forget your camera!

    Ideal for beginners and first time riders, as well as the experienced.
    2 hour horse ride is $100 per person.

    CULTURAL ENTERTAINMENT – Fijian Night

    Fijian Night is a theme night dedicated to the culture and people of this mystical tropical paradise!
    Sit back and relax as you are invited to spend an evening with friends.

    Begin your evening with a traditional Fijian Lovo Feast. The 4 course dinner includes meats, fish and local vegetables prepared Fijian style with a tropical dessert.

    During dinner, be entertained by the Paradise Cultural Group as they perform a Meke (traditional Fijian Dancing) for your enjoyment. You are invited to take photos and join in the dancing celebrations. Then join the villagers and staff for a Yaqona (Kava) Ceremony complete with storytelling, dancing and serenading.

    This weekly event is a true Fijian experience not to be missed!

    Snorkelling: Experience the beauty of the underwater world first hand! Our friendly Pro Dive Taveuni crew will assist you in choosing snorkelling gear fitting equipment and point you in the right direction for an exciting adventure within the crystal clear waters of Paradise.

    Snorkelling Safari: Our local guides will escort you to the departure point, where you will embark on a voyage of discovery. Drift along at a leisurely pace and take in the splendour of life underwater, whilst returning to Paradise.
    Dependant on the tides and currents around the clear waters of Paradise, your guides will lead you on a snorkelling journey, pointing out fascinating corals, fish life and shells along the way.
    Snorkelling Safari 1 ½ – 2 hours. Departs at various times due to the weather and tide conditions.

    Kayaking Tour. 1-2 hour guided kayaking tour along the southern Taveuni coastline. Breathtaking!

    Sulu Tying Demonstration: Let the Fijian girls show you the many intricate ways to tie the colourful Sulu (sarong).

    Learn To Speak Fijian: An easy lesson giving you the basics of the Fijian Language. 30 minutes

    Frond Weaving: Make a Hat, Basket, Dinner plate, Sunglasses and so much more. Lots of fun! It’s amazing what you can do with a Coconut Leaf! 1 hour

    Guided Cultural Walk: Set off with our local guide for an educational & leisurely walking tour of the local area. The 2 hr walk visits a village ruins, a deserted cemetery, the nearby black sand beach & the southern reservoir. Learn about the people of this beautiful island along the way.

    The 4 hour walk towards the south includes a tour of Vuna, the local village with Masi (Tapa) production and mat weaving. Visit the local Niu coconut oil factory. Wander through the endless coconut trees within the Vatuwiri Plantation.

    Your guide will point out features of interest including vegetation and its traditional uses.

    Coconut Tree Climbing: Watch as the limber staff scale even the highest of trees on the resort. Sample the tropical tastes of fresh coconut juice. 15 minutes

    Fish Feeding: Feed the beautiful tropical reef fish that inhabit the surrounding waters. 15 minutes

    Snake Show: The Resort pets – Fijian Pythons – are up close and personal. Touch a snake and have your photo taken. 30 minutes

    Coconut Lesson: Learn some interesting facts about coconuts and how to open them the Fijian way.

    Bury The Lovo: Learn how the staff prepare, bury and cook the Fijian delicacies under the Lovo fire. Enjoy the Lovo Feast that evening
